Position: Project Engineering Manager (Food)Location: Edmonton, AlbertaOne of our clients a leading supplier of fast moving consumer goods is currently seeking a professional Project Engineering Manager to oversee its facilities in Alberta.
Reporting to the VP of Engineering and Technical Services you will have bottom line responsibility for all capital projects and the maintenance of several customer focused, high volume food manufacturing facilities in Alberta.
To be considered for this outstanding career opportunity you must:- Have 7+ years supervisory experience managing the day to day maintenance activities of a food manufacturing plant. (Facilities)
- Have the ability to provide direction and leadership to others within the engineering group and those responsible for managing other departments within the manufacturing facilities
- Be able to assist Plant Managers in fostering a continuous improvement culture in the manufacturing facilities
- Be able to motivate and successfully raise the level of knowledge of the maintenance teams
- Ensure the efficient operation of all plant equipment and services including budgets, safety and product quality
- Continuously improve the preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve overall maintenance costs
- Be able to communicate effectively with all other departments
- Be responsible for the implementation of capital projects Oversee and direct plant projects involving outside contractors
- Arrange with suppliers to obtain and/or install equipment and parts
Qualifications: B.Sc. (Mechanical) (Chemical) Engineering or related discipline (preferred)
Several years experience in a continuous improvement culture in a food processing environment
Initiative, leadership skills, technical and organizational talent
Good verbal and written communication skills
High sense of urgency
Computer literate (MS Office)
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
